The only perfect thing is my imperfection

Perfectionism, control, desire to have order. These are all children of the ego. The ego thinks it needs to protect us, guide us and be in charge and is threatened by the presence of a Higher Power that is greater than it.

By turning to God, we tell the ego "No"! You are not in charge. You do not run my life. Like a child the ego needs boundries, limits and guidance. Remember, I have an ego but I am not my ego. It is only a part of me. My ego will travel with me today, and like a purring cat, I must just let it purr. When it stirs, just gently remind it that humility is the path way to peace. What I say is, "Thank you for sharing, Jesus is my Master." In Jesus's hands all is well, and my ego and my whole being can rest.

How can you help silence the nagging, incessant voice of the ego today?
