Bury or drown beneath a huge mass.

I feel overwhelmed. Too many things are pressing on me. House responsibilities, family obligations, pets, heath concerns. I feel like I am drowning in these situations which is a familiar sensation. As a near drowning victim I know what it is like to struggle to breathe under the weight of water. Drowning is a great metaphor for the feeling of heaviness, suffocation, and loss of control with our problems.

But is that true? We have control over our attitudes, our reactions and outlook. Am I trying to force solutions? Do I look for God in the midst of my problems? What can I do today to make it better? How can I pray?

Today I will remember, I don’t have to do things, I get to do things, the universe is in my favor.
