The vacuum you’re leaving when you say goodbye, makes my soul quiver.
Parting is such sweet sorrow. Or is it? When I part from my loved ones it feels like my heart jumped out of my body and just walked away. The hole that is left by your leaving pulsates with emptiness. What do I do with this gaping, yearning, space inside?
Anxiety and fear sounds good. Throwing anxiety into the situation distracts, redirects and helps me to forget. But it doesn’t heal the soul space, and causes unnecessary drama for those in my life. The imprint of fear and anxiety does not leave a good taste in my mouth.
Instead, gentle prayer. Humility, feeling our feelings, faith in God that our loved ones will be ok is a better place to begin. Having God fill the space is a wonderful thing to experience.
A simple prayer: God, fill the hole in my heart with your love…over and over is a great place to start.
So, today, when parting from our loves, let the goodbye from them be a hello to God. Spiritual companionship is about to begin.
