God works in the present moment. If I’m not in the present with God, what am I missing? - Anonymous

I struggle with trust. I wish I could wave my magic wand and instantly believe and feel secure. Once I know I did trust I was on a marine research vessel studying whales and dolphins. In the middle of the North Pacific surrounded by ocean on a boat, I knew I was right where I belong. I had no other choice but to surrender and relax in God’s care, where was I to go? The cruise and mission was wildly successful. This trust was forced yet successful and I felt so safe.

So how do I reach for trust today? Very slowly. Like a gentle flower opening up, I practice gentle trust. It is one moment, one minute at a time. I put my hand in God’s and let him lead me forward.

How do you practice gentle trust? Is there one way to add a small step into trust today?
