While standing on the pier looking at the blue water and choppy waves, I'm listening to the wind whip through the long, spindly reeds, I cry out to Jesus, please help me with all this fear I'm feeling, I’m willing to do anything to relieve this merciless fear. Please help me.

So my mind does what it does, it comes up with ready made solutions that we've all heard before. Act as if. Turn it over, don't let the thoughts linger. Let Go, Let God. Be very grateful. These are very good shortcuts, but not the real thing. After appeasing my ego with these self solutions, I go on with my day.

Later driving in my car, feeling anxious again, I suddenly get a very clear impression from my Higher Power. The impression is not audible, but so real that I am taken aback. The message I get is:

Nothing’s going to happen to you that God does not allow.

Which means is if it happens, God allows it and if he allows it, he will support you, help you and make it right for you.

Such powerful words to abate fear.

I relish these words, I let them roll around in my mind and my soul. I use them as a balm for my anxieties. I am free, I am free to live my life, knowing my Higher Power is taking care of me and only allowing his will for me. I will be safe, loved and cherished. I can live free from fear.

I needed these words, this comfort so badly! Jesus always shows up for me.
